Otevřená výzva k přihlášení uměleckých projektů do výstavy re-arranging urban deposits , která vzniká ve spolupráci Katedry volného umění s Českým centrem New York (červen až srpen 2025). Výzva je určena všem studujícím i čerstvým absolventům a absolventkám KVU.
Navrhovaná (již existující) práce by neměla být starší více než tři roky a její vznik by měl souviset s obdobím studia na KVU. Práce by se měla v širším kontextu vztahovat ke specifickým geologickým podmínkám města New York (a jemu podobným metropolím), které v létě, kdy bude výstava probíhat, spoluutváří specifické limity nesnesitelného vedra a vlhka.
Výstava re-arranging urban deposits se v širším kontextu soustředí na rozdíl mezi denním provozem města a operováním jeho více-než-lidského obyvatelstva v noci; na vztah “zeleného ostrova" (Central parku) na ostrově a jeho (de)mytizací; na běžně neviditelné "vnitřní útroby" města.

re-arranging urban deposits
The open call for art projects for the exhibition re-arranging urban deposits , which is being created in collaboration between the Department of Fine Arts UMPRUM and the Czech Center New York (June – August 2025), is open to all students and recent graduates of KVU.
Proposed (already existing) works should not be more than three years old and its creation should be related to the period of your study at KVU. The work should relate – in a broader context – to the specific geological conditions of the metropolises such as New York City which co-create the specific limits of unbearable heat and humidity during the summer. That is also the period of the realisation of the exhibition of this open-call.
In a wider context, the exhibition re-arranging urban deposits focuses on the difference between the daytime operation of the city and the operation of its more-than-human population at night; on the relationship between the "green island" (Central Park) on the island and its (de)mythicization; on the normally invisible "inner bowels" of the city.
