As part of its public program, Planet B hosts an online symposium focused on artistic and design research strategies applied in the context of water-related explorations. The symposium will take place online on November 9, 2023 from 10.45am.
Water systems are complex assemblages interconnecting countless living and nonliving entities and mediating multifaceted relationships and processes. As a vital component of planetary metabolic processes that finds itself under increasing anthropogenic pressures, water has been explored from various angles by artists, designers and architects whose approaches range from essayistic and speculative to performative and participatory. The symposium will bring together five individuals and collectives invested in aquatic concerns and will provide insights into the theoretical concepts and research methods constitutive of their work.
