Exchange students - FAQ
What´s the university teaching style?
The tuition at UMPRUM Prague is studio-based. The studio classes are the main subject/course both for local and exchange students. Students choose one of the 24 studios and once accepted they become a part of the studio and are obliged to participate in its meetings. The studio meetings are usually held twice a week (Mon + Thu) but students can work in their studios independently for the rest of the week. The studio classes are complemented by practical and theoretical courses described here. Students can compile their own schedule according to their interests and the number of ECTS required to obtain at UMPRUM by their home universities.
Is there any equipment I might need to bring over from home? Anything I might need for the workshops?
It´s not necessary to bring any equipment from home, the school workshops are well equipped. Any art supplies or tools can be bought in Prague shops. You may get dirty while working in the workshops or studios so some old clothes and shoes might be of use.
When will I receive my student card?
You will be able to pick up your student cards after the first meeting with the exchange coordinators.
