Bookbinding

Type of workshop: Departmental Workshop

Bookbinding is intended primarily for the Graphic Department but is also available to other students. The condition for all students is to complete occupational safety training under the guidance of workshop teachers.
Classes take place in the workshop, so it is necessary to find out about designated times for working on semestral projects and make a reservation in advance. Consultations and appointments take place daily at 10 am.

In the bookbinding workshop, students work independently under the guidance of lecturers. It is possible to make a binding of semester and final papers, portfolios, various types of industrial bindings, atypical book bindings, mounts, and cartons. The following technologies are available: cutter, lever shears for paper, presses, wire stitcher, paper drill, spiral binding (for blocks up to 8 mm),  grooving (creasing), punching with a perforating bar, thermo-embossing, rounding corners, die-cutting, variety of hole punchers, paper iron, sewing on an industrial sewing machine.
