Peng Hsiung – Grumpy Cat

Peng Hsiung, a Taiwanese illustrator, student of the Studio of Illustration and Graphic Design at UMPRUM, will be presenting at the Xao bookstore and gallery. Xao will be flooded with lots of cats drawn with wax pastels.
"My life in the Czech Republic feels like the life of a grumpy and difficult cat. I have expectations
of myself, hoping to become someone that everyone loves, but I’ve come to realize that I’m
not like that at all. While studying illustration, I discovered that the most honest way for me to
express my insecurities and anxieties is by turning them into a cat. This is the truest version
of myself."
Peng Hsiung ( *1987) is a taiwanese illustrator currently studying master digree at UMPRUM in Prague.
In Xao he will show a lot of colorfull wax pastel drawings and paintings of self cat portraits. In his drawings
he is playing with absurdity, nonsense and no ordinary playfull views of life that sometimes hit you with heavy message.
