TOMÁŠ NĚMEC - Thank God I‘m an Atheist

Tomáš Němec, a student of the Fashion and Footwear Design Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague, presents a collection called “Thank God I ́m an Atheist“ inspired by the film Lux Aeterna by French director Gaspar Noé. The intimate dialogue between the protagonists at the very beginning of the film is one of the key inspirations of my collection. Thanks to the backlighting and the intense glow in the background the details of the characters are removed and only dark silhouettes are left. This moment led to the use of exclusively black colour throughout the collection with an emphasis on the silhouette and composition of the garments. The sunglasses that complete the collection were created in co-operation with designer Jan Pančocha.
